New work by Ittetsu Ogura

Ittetsu Ogura’s new work goes beyond the realms of gay art, in terms of both execution and style. As an artist, I believe he is aiming for new highs. Unfortunately he is still highly underrated by collectors. Maybe I should be doing some more PR work for Mr. Ogura?
As I’ve said previously, having their work seen, acknowledged (and bought) by collectors and the public is what truly motivates artists to continue creating artworks.
Ogura himself was hoping to hold an individual exhibition this year, and I had also planned for this, but until Ogura’s collectors increase in numbers perhaps it is too early for such high expectations. As a result Ittetsu Ogura has consented to present a total of seven new works as part of our upcoming group exhibition.
I am a huge fan of Ogura’s talent and I’d like to introduce one of his new carved wood pieces. Along with Hideki Koh, in the next year I would like to promote Ittetsu Ogura as an artist who works in sculpture as well as paint. As an artist whose style straddles both comic and high art, Ittetsu Ogura’s works are both bold and delicate and truly deserving of attention.
